Vincenza took a Ph.D. in Advanced Biology at the University of Napoli Federico II. She did postdoctoral research in Italy and UK and she was Lecturer in Genetics and Bioinformatics at the University of Ferrara.

Vincenza works in population genomics to understand the processes leading to the current levels and distribution of genomic variation in humans. Besides helping to answer fundamental questions about the origin and evolution of our species, these studies are relevant for biomedical and applied research.

She is also coordinating the multidisciplinary project OBiLab.
